Client Background

Leasafric Ghana is a prominent player in Ghana's equipment leasing and logistics sector, providing heavy machinery, vehicles, and infrastructure support to industries across the country. As their operations expanded, Leasafric required additional warehousing capacity to support inventory management and equipment staging.

GIWU was selected to deliver a complete warehouse solution, from structural steel fabrication through to final handover, based on our proven track record in industrial warehousing projects.

Project Scope and Design

The Leasafric warehouse project encompassed:

  • Structural steel framework: Portal frame structure with secondary purlins and bracing systems
  • Foundation and civil works: Reinforced concrete foundations designed to support equipment loads and racking systems
  • Cladding and roofing: Insulated roof panels and wall cladding systems for environmental control
  • Access and circulation: Roller shutter doors, personnel access, and internal vehicle circulation areas

The design prioritized clear span areas to maximize operational flexibility and accommodate future layout changes as Leasafric's inventory requirements evolve.

Construction Execution

GIWU's approach to this project integrated fabrication, logistics, and on-site installation into a coordinated delivery model:

Phase 1: Fabrication and Preparation: All structural steel components were fabricated in GIWU's workshop to engineered specifications, with quality control inspections at each stage. Components were pre-assembled where practical to reduce on-site installation time.

Phase 2: Foundation and Groundworks: Civil works commenced with excavation, formwork, and reinforced concrete foundations. All foundation levels and positions were surveyed to ensure alignment with the steel frame design.

Phase 3: Steel Erection: The portal frame structure was erected sequentially, with each bay completed and braced before progressing to the next. Real-time surveying ensured vertical alignment and span accuracy throughout installation.

Phase 4: Cladding and Finishes: Roof and wall cladding systems were installed following steel frame completion, with attention to weatherproofing details and thermal insulation performance.

Operational Benefits for Leasafric

The completed warehouse provides Leasafric Ghana with:

  • Expanded storage capacity for heavy equipment and spare parts inventory
  • Protected indoor space for equipment staging and pre-delivery preparation
  • Flexible interior layout adaptable to changing operational requirements
  • Durable structural system designed for long-term industrial use

Project Delivery
